Toolbox in Your Town

People often inquire about launching a Toolbox group in their city or area. The Toolbox leadership would love to talk with you about the possibility. In the meantime, below you will find five steps to launching a Toolbox group.

1. Identify a Toolbox Point Man

The point man is someone who sees the great potential of, and is passionate about, ministry in the marketplace. He should be well-connected in the business community and willing to leverage time, energy, relationships and money to see men come to know Jesus. Most of our current point men also have a personal assistant that is able to provide a few hours of administrative support per month for Toolbox scheduling and communication.

2. Identify potential Host Partners

The biggest initial role of the point man is to identify a group of 10-12 potential host partners. Host partners are other business men who are passionate about marketplace ministry and willing to pray for God’s work in/through Toolbox; help underwrite the Toolbox lunch events; invite coworkers, colleagues and business associates to the Toolbox lunches; and help identify speakers for Toolbox lunch events.

3. Host a Toolbox Vision Lunch

The point man and potential host partners would be invited to a Toolbox Vision lunch in your city/area where Toolbox founder David Oelfke and Toolbox Executive Director Tom Douthit would share the history, impact and vision of Toolbox.

4. Visit a Toolbox Houston Event

The point man and potential host partners would be invited to experience one of the Toolbox-Houston events followed by a Q/A with Houston Host Partners.

5. Pray and discern the Lord's leading

The potential launch group would then take time to pray and discern the Lord’s leading relative to launching a Toolbox in the city/area.

If a group chooses to move forward, the Toolbox Executive Director will work closely with the point man and host partners to schedule the events, secure the venue, arrange speakers, and create next-step opportunities for the Toolbox lunch events.

Contact Tom Douthit at tdouthit@toolboxministries.com or 832-969-9404 for additional information.
