Danny Wuerffel, Heisman Trophy Winner, Executive Director of Desire Street Ministries
As quarterback for the Florida Gators , Danny Wuerffel led the NCAA in touchdown passes in 1995 and 1996. In 1996 Danny won the Heisman Trophy while leading the Florida Gators to their first national championship. Danny was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2013. He went on to play in the NFL for Green Bay, Washington, Chicago and New Orleans.
While playing for the New Orleans Saint Danny began volunteering with Desire Street Ministries in NOLA’s 9th Ward. That time of service turned into a calling. Today he is the Executive Director of Desire Street as well as President of the Wuerffel Foundation.

Pat is currently Senior Vice President of Teamalytics (business division of the Flippen Group) and a college baseball color analyst for Fox Sports. Prior to that he spent 11 years working in the financial services industry with Morgan Stanley and 8 seasons playing professional baseball for the Philadelphia Phillies and MIllwauke Brewers. He was a member of the 1988 gold medal Olympic team and is the author of a soon to be released “More Than the Score” (October 2020). He and his wife Christina have raised three sons.
