Dat Nguyen – Texas A&M and Dallas Cowboys Football Great
Dat Nguyen holds the distinction of being the first and only Vietnamese-American to play in the National Football League. Born in 1975 in an Arkansas refugee camp, Dat went on to be a standout football player for both Texas A&M and the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys. In 1998, he was named a unanimous All-American by every awarding publication, won the Bednarick Award for College Defensive Player of the Year, and the Lombardi Award, followed by 9 years in the NFL.
