La asombrosa historia de Ben Malcolmson sobre el propósito y el impacto comenzó cuando, como reportero estudiantil del periódico USC Daily Trojan, pasó por las pruebas de acceso al equipo de fútbol de la USC para poder escribir sobre lo duro que era desde una perspectiva en primera persona. A pesar de que la USC es el mejor equipo del país y de que Ben no ha jugado al fútbol desde que estaba en quinto grado, entró sorprendentemente en el equipo.
Ben pasó a trabajar para el entrenador Pete Carroll en la USC durante tres temporadas antes de unirse a él en Seattle durante las siguientes 13.

Pat is currently Senior Vice President of Teamalytics (business division of the Flippen Group) and a college baseball color analyst for Fox Sports. Prior to that he spent 11 years working in the financial services industry with Morgan Stanley and 8 seasons playing professional baseball for the Philadelphia Phillies and MIllwauke Brewers. He was a member of the 1988 gold medal Olympic team and is the author of a soon to be released “More Than the Score” (October 2020). He and his wife Christina have raised three sons.
